The short answer

A social media agency in Ontario typically costs between $1,500 and $10,000+ a month in 2026, depending on how much video they produce and how much of the work is done for you. Freelancers usually charge $500 to $2,500 a month, while full-service agencies can run $5,000 to $20,000+.

Here's what you actually get at each price, what drives the cost, and how to judge the value.

What drives the price

1

Video volume

Short form video is the biggest cost driver. A package with 1 reel a month and a package with 20+ reels a month are completely different products.

2

Who creates the content

If you film and the agency only posts, it's cheap. If the agency scripts, films on location, edits and posts, you're paying for a production team.

3

Strategy and conversion

Posting is easy to buy. Strategy that turns views into leads is not. Ask what happens after someone watches.

4

Paid ads

Ads management is usually a separate fee, and ad spend is always on top.

5

Number of platforms

The more platforms you post on, the more it costs. Posting only on Instagram costs less than posting on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Facebook, because each platform needs its own edits, captions and posting.

Is a cheaper option ever the right call?

Yes. If you're just starting out, have no budget and can film yourself, a freelancer or a course is a smart first step. If you need volume, quality and results without it eating your week, cheap usually costs more in the end.

The better question isn't "what does it cost?" It's "what is one new customer worth to me over a year?" If one new client is worth $5,000, a system that brings in 2 a month pays for itself.

What results should you expect for the money?

Ask any agency for real numbers. Here are a few of ours, in the clients' own words.
